Director of Sales

Reports to: Chief Growth Officer
Compensation Package: $110,000 - $130,000 (base salary + benefits; not inclusive of commissions)

About the Role

The Director of Sales role is central to our Company’s growth strategy as the lead for the Sales team. This individual has a strong knowledge of our Company’s products and customers and strives to enhance our social impact outcomes and brand presence by creating and executing replicable sales systems for various market segments. This individual will collaborate with the product, marketing, and customer success teams to align with the Company's mission to meet the needs of potential clients and secure sales.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership to the sales team through long and short-term strategic planning and implementation, including identifying new markets, detailed market research, and analysis
  • Develops sales team goals and quarterly OKRs; ensures individual and team quotas are met
  • Analyzes sales outcome data consistently to communicate with C-level and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Reviews and analyzes sales and operational records and reports; uses data to project sales, removes roadblocks for the sales team
  • Mitigates risks and resolves issues that could interfere with Company growth in a timely manner
  • Prepares sales budget; monitors and approves team expenses
  • Acts as company representative at conferences, events, and other business development opportunities
  • Develops key relationships with clients and strategic partners
  • Exhibits excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with management and cross-functional teams, for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Understands and effectively communicates the Company's value prop, tech, process, and current partnerships
  • Communicates effectively with C-level executives on sales strategy implementation and performance outcomes
  • Maintains sales team by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training team members. As well as counseling and disciplining employees in alignment with the Company performance management system
  • Ensures the sales team maintains a pipeline full of sales opportunities
  • Works closely with marketing and customer success teams to support a successful revenue operations model
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field
10+ years in sales or
business development-
related roles
Strong oral and verbal communication skills
Strong supervisory and leadership skills
Technologically
savvy
Strong
self-confidence
Ability to travel to conferences and client meetings up to 20% of the time
Strong negotiation skills
Growth mindset and ability to adapt to a changing environment quickly
Strong data analysis skills
Experience with business
CRM systems

Preferred
Qualifications

  • MBA with a focus in Sales or Marketing
  • 6+ years working in education, B2B, or tech sales-related roles
  • EdTech, Education, or Social impact sales experience
  • Proficient in Hubspot CRM
