Compensation Package: $20-$40 (dependent on experience and grade level)

About the Role

The Engineering intern reports to the Chief Product Officer and is responsible for supporting the engineering team to ensure the product roadmap stays on track, that the team and individual members

Responsibilities

The intern's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Product Strategy

  • Organize epics, releases, and sprints based on the product roadmap
  • Review the backlog for coverage of prioritized epics
  • Write user stories to define requirements for new features, enhancements to develop, and bugs to fix
  • Review user stories for clarity of requirements and readiness for the next release and sprint
  • Manage and execute tasks in project plans in preparation for feature or product launches

Development

  • Execute proof of concepts of new technical solutions and train team members using lessons learned
  • Develop code to fulfill user stories and technical requirements

Performance management and analytics
 

  • Track individual and team performance metrics

  • Develop testing automation workflows
  • Write tests to ensure test coverage for user story validation
  • Execute tests to provide feedback to the team on the development quality

Development Operations
 

  • Learn existing development and customer support tools
  • Identify improvements to the development process
  • Build workflow automation tools and implement tools and processes
  • Develop guides and training content on new processes and standards
  • Train the development team on the new tools and processes
  • Measure the effectiveness of the changes

Minimum
Qualifications

Google workspace (docs, sheets, slides, forms) or equivalent
Entrepreneurial, perseveres, excellent problem solver, and knows when to ask for help to achieve assigned objectives
Proven to be proactive, methodical, organized, and structured with assignments
Reliable in their ability to complete assignments on time and with the highest quality
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Takes pride in researching, learning, and teaching new processes and tools
High emotional intelligence and self-awareness
Thrives in a highly collaborative environment
Ability to work independently and desire to learn and grow in a start-up environment
Ability to think analytically, target-oriented and process-driven
Motivated to adapt to and learn from the company culture

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in common software development operations, such as Github, VS Code and JIRA
  • Proficiency in project management tools, such as Asana
  • Proficiency in Big Data tools
  • Proficiency in online whiteboarding and UX/UI design tools, such as Miro and Figma
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, Handlebars, Javascript, SQL, Python, PHP
