About the Role

The Account Strategist role is central to our Company’s growth strategy. This individual has a strong knowledge of our Company’s products and strives to enhance our social impact outcomes and brand presence by expanding our reach into new customers, segments, and markets. In addition to understanding sales cycles, and leveraging data to develop sales strategies, this individual manages all phases of the customer buying journey and is responsible for handling renewals and upselling products in a timely manner.

The Account Strategist collaborates with colleagues across our marketing, product, and customer success teams to ensure all efforts are centered around the needs of our clients.

An ideal candidate has a strong sales background, is knowledgeable of continuous improvement in education, and is able to work independently and with others to seek out potential clients and secure them through the sales process. Most importantly, the candidate has strong communication skills, is nimble and resilient, empathetic, thrives in a changing environment, and is passionate about educational equity and social justice.
  • Utilizes a database and the internet to research prospects and identify new potential customers by qualifying them using ideal customer profile parameters
  • Generates leads by prospecting, building, and maintaining relationships throughout our current client community and beyond
  • Performs full cycle sales from initial customer engagement to closing sales using the ability to influence, negotiate and gain commitment from all stakeholders
  • Collaborates with the Marketing team to develop material for campaigns such as: one-pagers, email sequences, landing pages, FAQ documents, and presentations
  • Supports and collaborates with the CEO Office for accounts payable/receivables
  • Attends and participates in seminars and Company meetings to develop professional skills and business acumen; shares knowledge with the team with a collaborative, supportive approach
  • Presents sales campaign progress and goals to internal stakeholders and C-level executives
  • Participates in Company strategic goal setting, progress monitoring, and training activities
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field
3+ years in sales or business development related roles
Strong oral and verbal communication skills
Technologically savvy
Ability to travel to conference and client meetings up to 30% of the time
Strong self-confidence
Growth mindset and ability to adapt to a changing environment quickly
  • MBA with a focus in Entrepreneurship, Sales and/or Marketing
  • 5+ years in education related sales roles
  • Proven ability to meet performance quotas
