About the Role
The Director of Sales role is central to our Company’s growth strategy as the lead for the Sales team. This individual has a strong knowledge of our Company’s products and strives to enhance our social impact outcomes and brand presence by creating and executing replicable sales systems for a variety of market segments. This individual will collaborate with the product, marketing and customer success teams with the goal of alignment to the Company mission and to meet the needs of potential clients and secure sales.
An ideal candidate has a strong leadership and sales background, is knowledgeable of continuous improvement and various markets in education, and is able to lead and manage a Sales team in strategy development, execution and goal monitoring. Most importantly, the candidate has strong communication skills, is nimble and resilient, empathetic, thrives in a changing environment, and is passionate about educational equity and social justice.
  • Provides leadership to the sales team through long and short term strategic planning and implementation including identifying new markets
  • Develops sales team goals and quarterly OKRs; ensures individual and team quotas are met
  • Reviews and analyzes sales and operational records and reports; uses data to project sales, removes roadblocks for the sales team
  • Mitigates risks and resolves issues that could interfere with Company growth in a timely manner
  • Prepares sales budget; monitors, and approves team expenses
  • Acts as company representative at trade association meetings
  • Communicates effectively with C-level executives on sales strategy implementation
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field
10+ years in sales or business development related roles
Strong oral and verbal communication skills
Technologically savvy
Strong supervisory and leadership skills
Strong self-confidence
Ability to travel to conference and client meetings up to 15% of the time
Growth mindset and ability to adapt to a changing environment quickly
  • MBA with a focus in Sales or Marketing
  • 6+ years working in education, B2B, or tech sales related roles
