Embed a Chart
Who does this guide apply to?
Portfolio Super Admin and School Super Admin
You are now able to quickly embed dashboards from third party analytics applications, like Tableau and Google Data Studio, on your Dashboard page. This will help you have all of your important data visualizations in one place in order to plan effectively, monitor trends, and celebrate the results of your work with your team.
Look at the “Role” colum to identify the type of users you are.
If you are not a user that is listed above you cannot embed a chart. If you need to change your user type to allow for chart embedding contact your Innovare School Super Admin to request a permissions change or email us at [email protected]
Embedding a Chart
The URL is provided by the third party analytics application you use. Here are instructions on how to obtain the embed URL for common analytics tools:
- Use the instructions here provided by Tableau to copy a link to share your dashboard.
- In the URL, replace the content after the “?” with the following text:
Google Data Studio
- Use the instructions here provided by Google to set up your Google Data Studio dashboard permissions. Follow the instructions in the “Embed in the new Google Sites” section to copy the embed URL embed to use in Inno.
When embedding charts from a third party application, permissions for that chart are controlled by the third party application. To make embedded charts public or private you will need to update the permissions in the third party application.
We’ve enabled any public URL to be embedded. You can also embed Google Docs and Google Sheets by copying and pasting the URL from your browser to the “Add New Chart” modal’s URL field.
Only embedded chart cards can be repositioned. Native charts stay in their row alignment, but will shift up or down depending on where the embedded chart is placed.
